What is raw footage?

So you’re thinking about purchasing the “Legacy Drive” add-on. What is that? Do I need certain devices to view the footage? Is it worth it? Who purchases this add-on?

These are all great questions that hopefully I can answer for you.

The main question. “What is raw footage” It’s exactly what It sounds like. Throughout the wedding day your videographer takes hundreds of video “clips” They will start and stop recording every-time there is a new moment. Some clips are 10 seconds long, some are up to 30 minutes long, depending on the point in the day. Typically getting ready clips are shorter than ceremony or reception clips.

Pros and Cons of having your wedding day raw footage.

Pros

  • It’s good to have for safe keeping in case anything happens to your actual wedding film

  • You can view everything from your wedding day chronologically

  • You’re able to experience your wedding day in a completely different way

Cons

  • Unedited, flat picture & looks unfinished

  • In camera audio not the best sounding, picks up lots of unwanted audio

The raw footage will be delivered with your wedding film on a USB drive. A long with that, you’ll receive an online link with the footage in a cloud storage so you can download yourself. The clips that are sent are 4k MP4 files that can be played on any mobile device, computer, tablet, etc.

This add-on is for the couple that loves to watch authentic moments unfold on camera. If you like to revisit your wedding every year with your family and friends then the raw footage add-on may be the right choice for you!
